Tifgreen Hybrid Bermuda  Need help with choosing? Need Ordering Information? The most popular, carefree lawn, suited to our area. Tifgreen presents a fine, putting green surface. It is essentially disease and insect resistant, can withstand heavy foot traffic and is extremely drought tolerant. Tifgreen thrives in hot weather and is adapted to almost every soil type. It requires almost full sunshine to maintain a lush appearance. During the growing season (spring to fall), Tifgreen should be mowed weekly at ¼ to ½ inch, and fertilized monthly. Tifgreen can be planted from sod or stolons (sprigs) but produces no viable seed. During winter months, Tifgreen turns brown and does not require mowing or fertilizing unless it is overseeded with a winter ryegrass. It has been used for putting greens athletic fields, commercial grounds and in hundreds of thousands of home lawns.
